How Invisalign® Works

The Invisalign® teeth-straightening method involves the patient wearing clear plastic aligner trays for at least 22 hours a day, every day. The aligners can be removed by the patient during meals and for brushing and flossing teeth. Every few weeks, Dr. Reddy provides the patient with a new set of aligner trays. Gradually, over a period of several months, the aligner trays work in much the same way as traditional braces – straightening the patient’s smile.

Advantages of Invisalign®

The biggest advantage of Invisalign® technology is obvious, or should we say NOT obvious: the trays are virtually invisible. But there are other benefits to this revolutionary dental technology. Patients report that the aligner trays are more comfortable that metal braces, which can often irritate gum tissue. Because the trays can be removed to eat meals, there are no dietary restrictions with Invisalign®. And brushing and flossing is easy since the trays are removable, unlike the situation with metal braces, which can make it difficult to thoroughly clean teeth and gums.
