iTero Intraoral Scanner

Thanks to this amazing dental device, Dr. Reddy is now able to view high definition images of a patient’s mouth on an easy-to-see computer screen. The device consists of an image sensor that uses optical and laser scanning, all of which is contained in a wand-like instrument that easily fits inside the patient’s mouth. In addition to providing high res images for Dr. Reddy, the iTero scanner also produces digital impressions, which means that it’s no longer necessary to make physical impressions of the patient’s teeth.

Digital X-rays

It seems as though the whole world of photography has become digital, so it’s probably no surprise to learn that the same thing has happened with X-rays. Rather than waiting for film X-rays to develop, digital X-rays produce images immediately. And those images are much clearer than old-fashioned film X-rays. Because the images are digital, they can be stored in electronic files on our computer system, which makes it much easier for Dr. Reddy to compare current images with those taken before. Another advantage of digital X-rays is that they produce about 70% less radiation than traditional film X-rays.
